The Damask rose has been revered as the queen of roses for centuries. It is from its delicate petals that one of the world's most prized hydrosols is created. At dawn, before the sun warms the flowers, they are hand-harvested to preserve as many valuable ingredients and their subtle, natural aroma as possible.
It’s no coincidence that it has been used in skincare for hundreds of years. Damask rose hydrosol helps restore the skin's balance and its natural pH, which ranges from about 4.5 to 6.7. After cleansing, it acts like a gentle return to harmony – soothing, refreshing, and preparing the skin to absorb subsequent active ingredients.
It is also a light humectant that binds water in the epidermis. That’s why we love to use it under oils and creams. Skin hydrated with hydrosol significantly better utilizes the potential of natural skincare.

How is hydrosol made?
Hydrosol is not just scented water or diluted essential oil.
It is created during the steam distillation of fresh flowers. The steam gently permeates the rose petals, releasing their valuable components. It then cools and condenses, creating two exceptional substances – essential oil and hydrosol.
Hydrosol is that incredibly precious plant water that retains water-soluble active compounds and trace amounts of natural essential oil. This makes it much gentler than essential oils and suitable for direct application on the skin.
In the case of the Damask rose, thousands of fresh petals are needed to produce a hydrosol with such a subtle fragrance and exceptional skincare properties. The flowers are harvested at dawn when they contain the highest concentration of valuable substances and exude the most intense aroma.
